If you pull a random group of people off the street and ask them where they get their fashion inspiration, chances are you’ll hear a few celebrities mentioned along the way. For some reason, the world looks to those individuals for clothing inspiration on a very regular basis. Why is that though? A lot of people assume that it is because people admire the celebrities themselves and therefore want to dress like them. There may be some truth in that, but there are so many people who just pull up a magazine, see a picture of a celebrity and are inspired by their outfit or an article of their clothing. So is it all out of convenience then? Let’s find out…

Part of the world’s obsession with celebrity fashion may in fact spark form convenience, only in the sense that the media puts those people right in the limelight. You can find examples of celebrity attire in just about every magazine and talk show out there, and even when you can’t see it, you hear about it on the radio. Hollywood styles are everywhere – right in front of our faces. It only makes sense that we look to that for some source of inspiration. It’s almost unavoidable. Celebrities are also able to stay on the cutting edge of fashion. They almost have to. This is because stylists look to celebrities to promote new looks and really draw in the media for a certain trend. Hollywood itself is really just a giant moving advertisement for new clothing styles and trends that can only be seen there at first. Also, with their celebrity statuses, members of the limelight can take bigger risks than most people just because in the end, everyone will think the look is hip. New trends are formed like that all the time because one celebrity decided to walk on the wild side. Think of how celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox have influenced fashion styles both with their off screen wardrobe and film related wardrobe.

In the end though, it all probably reverts back to the fact that people adore celebrities and thus adore celebrity fashion. The glamor of the red carpet and the hype that goes along with Hollywood style just makes it all the more influential in the lives of everyone else. Luckily, there are a ton of opportunities now for people to obtain the celebrity styles they see in the movies and in magazines both by purchasing the exact same item and in cases of high end fashion, similar styles. Which means a person can very well dress with celebrity style be it trendy, classic or a mix, without breaking their budget.
